Daddy.. what a guy.

Cowboy

The other night Jeff went in to check on Brodey before we went to bed.. several hours after we had put him to bed. Normally we assume he'll be sleeping when we check on him. This is how Jeff found him:
You just never know what you are going to get.

Happy Birthday Brock!

**Not having a working computer at home is a torture I don't wish on anyone. Ours is broken... I don't know when it will be fixed. I can't even remember how to do banking without the internet. It's sad. In the meantime I will catch up whenever I can.

Back to Brock. My baby turned two years old yesterday, June 15, 2008 at 6:27am. Thankfully none of us were awake at that time. We spent the rest of the day celebrating Brock and his daddy as it was also Father's Day. I wish I would have gotten more video... Brock was so funny. His favorite phrase of the day: "That so awwwesome!!" and his favorite gift, compliments of his Aunt Lyndsay and Uncle Travis: Batteries. He ran around the house showing everyone "I got bat-ries! I got bat-ries!". Never mind the bubble machine the batteries we for... "Yay bat-ries!!" is all we heard from him for the rest of the night.

For comparison, here is a picture of Brock's first birthday:

And one from this year. He was mesmerized by the candles.

**Side note... I never intended for him to be wearing an undershirt for his birthday pictures... oops. Funny... Brodey is wearing a similar undershirt in his 2nd birthday photos.

Boys

In the car this morning:

Brock: "Mommy... wook at this booger!" quick glance in the mirror confirms giant booger on his finger. I grabbed a tissue and reached back to take care of it (all while driving)... he held it just out of my reach and says "No! I hold booger!". Then Brodey chimes in: "Eat it Bwock!"... giggling from both. Brock held it to his mouth like he was going to eat and then Brodey yells.. "No.. rub it in your hair Bwock!" More giggling. This continued for some time. Thankfully we reached our destination without anyone eating a booger or wiping it in their hair. Brock was very disappointed when I wiped it off his finger. Boys.

Cheetos...

Me to Brodey: "You need to eat a vegetable today."
Brodey: "I did... 'member, I had Cheetos for lunch."
-
Brodey to my belly: "Do a little shaky baby... I can't feel you."
-
Last night I was yelling for the boys to be careful running around the pool at my parent's house. Brodey says to me: "It's okay, Uncle Myles jump in and get us if we fall." At least he has a plan.

When I'm not watching...

The boys watch a video in the mornings after breakfast while I get dressed. Or so I think. Today Brock came running around the corner looking like this. All he could say for himself was "Wook Mom!". And he doesn't know what happened. (clarification in case you can't understand him in the video.)

Back Pain

I've been having some trouble with my back in this pregnancy. Not all the time, mostly just after doing something strenuous like cutting the grass (which I love to do and don't plan on discontinuing). Friday, after doing some yard work I sat down on the grass to have a popsicle with the boys. Brock wanted me to lay down and look at the clouds with him. Immediately I knew I would not be able to get up. It took more than 10 minutes to even be able to roll on to my side so I could breathe better. It was 5:15pm... Jeff was going to be home at 5:30 so I figured I could wait. Brodey called him in the meantime... this is what I heard:
Brodey: "Mommy needs you." "She's stuck on the grass." "She fall down." "I try. She's weally heavy." "Ok daddy... luf you... bye!" Then Brodey tells me.. "he's coming mommy.. just feeeewwww minutes (as he's holding up 4 fingers)." Turns out daddy was running late that day... I spent 45 minutes in the grass in the hot sun with ants biting me. Then Jeff comes home and instead of helping me up he set his water bottle just out of my reach then goes in the house to get the camera! I will not be laying in the grass anymore.

**Side note... I was happy that I've had such strict outside rules with the boys. Not once did one of them run out in the road or leave the yard.

The Joy of Pregnancy.
