Pictures

Lincoln log masterpiece....
The boys were having an especially rough time obeying while playing outside the other day so they both spent some time in the time out spot. Lyla felt left out so she put herself in time out...
Lyla likes to snuggle things on the floor.. the boys were so cute covering her up with her "nigh-night" and then snuggling up next to her.

Super Hero's and sillies

The boys were playing super hero's the other day... blanket capes and all... and they were picking super hero names. Brock was "Super Camo Boy!" and Brodey said he was "Super Uncle Myles! the super hero". So cute.

Lyla is reminding us more and more of Brock with her crazy expressions and silliness. We are in for some trouble!! You can tell they really love each other... Brock likes to pester her, but she forgives him fast and is always trying to hug him.

Brodey and Brock were sitting on the couch and Brodey looked at Brock and said, "Why are you sitting so close to me?? You're not my hunny." (?????) Who is his hunny???

Discipline

Friday night Jeff was getting the kids ready for bed and had all three in the bathroom brushing teeth. Lyla saw the toilet paper and thought it would be fun to un-roll the paper onto the floor. Jeff caught her and said "no no Lyla" and popped her on the hand. This was the first time Lyla had been disciplined by daddy (yes.. she made it a whole 18 months without doing something wrong in daddy's eye). She was devastated. Came running out of the bathroom and sobbed into my shoulder for a good 20 minutes. Then she snuggled with Jeff some and kept pointing to her hand and slapping it. When we put her in her bed she started sobbing all over again (very un-Lyla like, she NEVER cries at bedtime) and slapping her own hand some more. Jeff was heartbroken. So much so that he sat on the floor in her room and held her hand through the crib rails until she fell asleep. Poor poor daddy.... he said that's the last of him disciplining her. Baby girl has her daddy right where she wants him.

18 months!

Today Lyla is 18 months old. Why not put on some matching clothes and take some torturous pictures to celebrate!

Poor baby just can't take any more "affection"

Brodey, say "cheese"....
Brodey, say "hippopotamus".....
Brodey, say "Christmas tree"....
Brodey, say "puke".... (now why does that get a smile??)
Brothers

It has been a GLORIOUS 18 months having Lyla in our family. We love love love her and look forward to seeing her become a BIG SISTER sometime in the next month-ish.

fun

Brock: "mommy.. did you know girls don't have penis's?"

Me: "I did know that"

Brock: "they don't have penis's because they like hearts. and they are girls."

huh.

Lyla is quite the helper these days. She likes to unload the dishwasher, pick up around the house and do a little laundry too. Unfortunately she doesn't yet have the order down. She takes the dirty dishes out and hides them in the lower cabinets.... she finds things laying on the floor and throws them in the trash (shoes, toys, mail, clothing.. etc)..... her favorite is pulling clothes out of the dryer and dumping them on the floor. And then, since they are now on the floor, throwing them in the trash. Maybe I meant to say Lyla is quite the UN-helper these days. No worries, I believe she will get the system down soon and then she really will be a big help!

Brodey is shocking us with the things he has learned at school this year. He was looking at a calendar with Jeff and randomly starting pointing out words he knew... all the days of the week! Then he busted out with the Pledge of Allegiance.... I didn't know he knew that. Then he sat down and drew a very detailed picture of our whole family.. and correctly wrote each of our names over our heads! May not seem like a big deal, but I was surprised by it and am super proud of him. I think he might be a genius.
