Static

It finally warmed up a little here this week so we got to play outside for a little while. (I know my family in Minnesota is going to read this and roll their eyes.... my cousin actually said to me "Yeah, it's been warm here too.. almost in the 30's." Tease if you have to.. but I can't play outside unless it's in the 60's!)
We got out on the trampoline and this is what happened to Brock's hair. His hair normally looks like he has static so him on the trampoline was hilarious.

Cooking with Stephanie...

My friend Stephanie has a grandmom that makes the BEST chicken and dumplings. When we were in high school Grandmom Durham would make us these dumplings anytime we really needed them... like if one of us had been sick... or maybe if both of us were failing statistics (and our friend Ali too). So seeing as how I have been really sick for the last few weeks Stephanie came out to my house and made dumplings for me! And Brodey got to help... he was thrilled and had a blast. Thanks Stephanie... exactly what I needed!!

Hyperemesis Gravidarum

Hyperemesis Gravidarum is why my blog posts will be few and far between for awhile. It is a condition of pregnancy that happens in like less than 3% of all pregnant women and is basically severe morning sickness that lasts all day and night and much longer than the first trimester. I'm on several medications, one that pumps into a port in my leg 24 hours a day. My sister comes by to change the port every three days.... I am not a fan of needles and tend to be a baby about it.... last night I may have hit her when she got near me with the needle. What can I say, it's hard on the whole family! =)
Anyhow, I have a few updates I want to get up here today.. and then it may be awhile again!

Snow in Georgia

It snowed a little here the other day... the boys loved it. (well.. maybe not Brock) It didn't stay long, but it was fun for a little while!

Telling Brodey...

Me: "Brodey, mommy has been really sick lately because there is a baby growing in my tummy."

Brodey: "Brock?"

Me: "No, it's not Brock, it's another baby."

Brodey: "We are going to have TWO Brock's??!!" (I can't tell if he was terrified about the thought of having two Brocks or excited)

Me: "No, this is a baby we have not met yet. What should we name it?"

Brodey: "Poocer" (my sisters boy.. Cooper)

Me: "We already have a Cooper"

Brodey: "Baby Jesus!!" (he was really excited about this one)

Me: "Maybe mommy will name this baby."

Count 'em...

Yep... there are FIVE! I found out a week before Christmas that we were going to have a third baby and thought it would be fun to surprise Jeff Christmas morning by hanging another stocking up there with the rest of ours. It took him a few minutes, but he eventually caught on! We are almost 7 weeks, I will have my THIRD doctor's appointment on Friday and the baby is due around August 29... one week after our 5th anniversary. We wanted to keep it quiet a little longer, but I have been very sick and people started guessing!

O Christmas Tree

Saturday, after spending a long day in Alabama, we got home at 11:30pm... Jeff and I got the boys in bed and walking toward our bedroom found something very sad. Our 10ft + Christmas tree had fallen down sometime while we were gone. It landed on the wood floor in our foyer and MANY of our ornaments were broken. Including Brodey's 1st Christmas ornament and a handful of really special ornaments given to me at a wedding shower. I had hung all of our special ornaments high this year to keep the boys from playing with them... little did I know that was such a dangerous place! The tree was sitting on the carpet in our family room originally, so not only did we have a mess of glass, our carpet was soaked from the water in the tree stand. We were already so tired so we just scooped up the tree and set it out on the deck while we cleaned up the glass. The next morning Brodey was very sad to see the Christmas tree sitting out in the rain... he asked us repeatedly to bring it back inside and put the ornaments back on it. Poor kid! I'm glad he didn't have to see how sad it looked laying down with broken glass everywhere.
Speaking of the glass.. it was EVERYWHERE. Two days later Jeff cut his hand on a piece while picking up a toy. I'm still not convinced we got it all. We learned a valuable lesson for next year.... we need a bigger tree stand.
