Just some silly things....

Jeff wouldn't share his chips with Brodey the other day so Brodey stomped his foot, gave Jeff and ugly look and said: "FINE. You stinky spank face!" We generally try to discourage name calling.... but some things are just too funny to not laugh at.

Yesterday I was outside with Brodey pulling weeds and it was REALLY hot. He ran inside for something and came back a few minutes later with a glass of water for me. He's such a sweet boy! And so proud of himself... wish I would have taken a picture of how cute he was holding the glass out to me. (he can't reach the cabinet we keep glasses in so he grabbed a dirty glass out of the dishwasher and filled it with water from the bathroom sink. No worries... I didn't let him know how gross I thought that was and drank the whole glass with a smile.) :)

Brock is officially over this monkey shirt phase. He now likes to wear 5-6 shirts at a time. And when he gets hot he takes them off one by one and leaves them around the house. Oh how I miss the monkey shirt phase.

Last T-ball practice

The boys had their last TBall practice of the season last night. Cooper and Brodey did great and seemed to have fun. Here they are playing catch before their coaches arrived.
During practice Lyla showed us her newest skill... pulling up to standing ALL BY HERSELF. She is also officially doing a "real" crawl... no more army crawl.
And Brock. Well... watch the video... (he dressed himself in the random 80's attire)

No children in this post

This past weekend Jeff and I headed to Reynolds Plantation with some really good friends to celebrate our friend Andy's birthday. WITHOUT KIDS! It was fantastic. I am a huge fan of Andy's birthday!! We stayed at the Ritz and us girls were able to take FULL advantage of the Spa while the guys played golf.

This is a picture of the pool looking out over the lake... it was so beautiful.

Who's bigger??

Lyla: 3 weeks
Brock: 2 years
Lyla: 10 months
Brock: 3 years
How did she get so big????

Runnin thru the sprinkler

Jumpy Place!!

Earlier this week it was icky outside so we met some friends at the jumpy place. Lyla has been before, but this was the first time I let her actually participate. She loved it sooooo much. It was hilarious. She army crawled SOOO FAST around that jumpy thing. I think she made some other moms nervous.. being so small and in with the big kids.. but she can hold her own with her brothers and cousin so I knew she would be fine.

Super Hero

Cooper has been here for the last two weeks... we have been having so much fun with him! For starters, we pretended we were super heroes and made these really cool masks!
Cooper also liked dressing up as Buzz Lightyear. He put on the costume and told me, "Because (he starts all his sentences with "because"), I wook super awesome in this Ash-wee!" Lyla thought so too.

Brock.... he makes me nervous.

Earlier this week I was about 4 steps down on the basement stairs when I heard Brock running through the kitchen behind me, I turned just in time to see him JUMP from the top of the stairs and crash into me. Luckily I caught him and managed to not fall, with him, the rest of the way down the steps. As I tried to explain why he shouldn't jump like that he looked at me like I was crazy and said, "But I caught you mom... I won't let you fall." It's not ME I'm worried about!

A couple of days later, out of no where, he says: "Mommy! I'm going to pop out da window! And then I will pop back in!" (he means jump) I tried for a long time to explain to him that if he were to jump out of the window (2nd story window BTW) he would NOT be able to just pop back in... in fact he would be VERY hurt. I don't think I got through to him.

I hope this isn't a window into what he will be like as a teenager!

10 months

Wow! 10 months! Lyla started doing an official "army crawl" a few days after she turned 9 months. Every now and then she'll get up on all fours and do a real crawl, but she's still mostly on her tummy.... and VERY fast! The boys love love love that she can get around with them. She can also pull up on things but usually just to her knees. If I help her up to her feet she can stand like that for a while. I'm still assuming she will be a late walker since the boys were, so it's no surprise to me that she isn't very sturdy on her feet. She has two words that she says a lot (Mama and Yay... how cute is that????) and just in the past week started saying "dada". She continues to be a very quiet and gentle baby (with the exception of meal time... when food is involved she is very loud and excited!) We love our sweet Lyla beans!

Word confusion and lullabies

Brock: "Look daddy.... I got my two hookers!"

(he meant hangers)

Every night when we put the boys in bed, Brock always wants me to sing him a song. Normally it's something like "You are my Sunshine" or "Jesus loves Me". For the past couple of weeks he's been asking for "the Papa Gann train song". We don't know what that is... no idea. We even consulted with Papa Gann about his train song.... he doesn't know either. Brock asked Jeff and I separately about this song and we both made up our own version and that's what we sing to him now. (Mine is better. haha! ;)

4th of July!

Friday night, July 3rd, we went to the Kennesaw fireworks with several friends. The boys had a great time and they all.... even Lyla... loved the fireworks! As an extra special treat the boys got to have their first ever slumber party afterwards... their buddy Logan and his family came and spent the night with us. The boys all slept in sleeping bags on the floor and had such a blast. It was so cute to listen to them the next morning chatting about their favorite fireworks from the night before.

Lyla tried her first ever ice cream popsicle waiting for the fireworks to start. She loved it.. of course.
And I just like this picture.... :) haha
Logan and Brodey in their star shirts

Mama Gann brought sparklers... the boys didn't want to hold them but had fun watching everyone else with them.
When the fireworks started Brock was in awe. His face was SOOOO CUTE.. I wish I would have gotten a better picture. After I took this one he moved across the street with daddy to get a better view and Brodey sat in Mr. Clint's lap.
After staying up so late we got up early, had breakfast with our slumber party friends and then decided to skip nap and head to Gramma's to swim. From there we went to our friends Andy and Kristen's for a cookout. I took the following pictures to document how ridiculously tired they all were.
Don't they look excited??

Really we should have known better than to take three insanely tired children to a cookout after so much excitement already... but we went anyway! I have no pictures from that part of the night because with all the chaos pictures were the last thing on my mind. In short, Brodey jumped in the pool.. pulled the pool vacuum up to the surface and then SOAKED Lyla and I with the vacuum hose. (In true Lyla form, she was not fazed at all.. even though we were BOTH completely soaking wet.) When we finally gave up and called it a night we left VERY un-gracefully with three screaming children and armloads of bags/blankets/shoes/clothes and dropping things left and right. Not our finest moment. (but makes me smile to think about! ha!)
We got home and bathed the kids... put 2 out of three to bed and then Jeff and Brodey went back out to watch fireworks on the lake. I don't know anything about this part of the night (I was blissfully asleep within minutes of them leaving!)... but these are a few of the pictures Jeff came home with...

Happy 4th of July!!

Orange Bowl

A couple of weeks ago I harassed Brodey and Brock all day about taking fruit out of the fruit bowl and throwing it at each other. They each spent MUCH of the day in time out for this offense. We had several long conversations about how we don't play with fruit. That very same night I was gone and Jeff was here alone with them. When I got home he tells me about a "fun game" they had been playing.... bowling with oranges. Or "Orange Bowl" as he liked to call it. GRRRRRRRRR!!! One step forward... two steps back.
The next morning Brodey couldn't WAIT to show me the game they played with daddy. (yes.. in his underwear)
If ever we are seen out in public and the boys are doing something totally crazy I hope people realize it's their daddy that taught them to act so crazy!!

6 months of Brodey pictures

I finally got around to uploading the pictures from Brodey's camera.. there are almost 400!! (no less than 75 of the ceiling fan in his room) So fun to look through... I guess the last time I uploaded them was around Christmas! Some of these things I don't have any idea when they happened... but are fun to document anyway.
Here we have Lyndsay playing puzzles with Lyla.

Gramma Hat visited last month and Brodey got some fun shots of her playing with Cooper and Brock.
We love crazy Gramma Hat

Here's me and Lyla snuggling in Brock's bed before nap time one afternoon.
And me snuggling Brock on the floor after a fall...
Ninja turtles
Maddy came for playgroup... Brock took like 47 pictures of her. He loves her.
