About a week short of 15 months, Lucy Rae got up and walked! (This might seem late to most people.. but in this house it's practically a miracle!) She is our earliest walker. I feel happy and sad about this at the same time... she's growing so fast!! But it sure does make playing outside and going to the pool a lot easier!! Way to go Sushi girl!!

Ali came to town again and we FAILED to get our annual couch photo! We have a good excuse... we had a mini-reunion and it was too crazy for me to get out my camera with 17!! kids in the house (age 6 and under). I did manage to snap a few the next morning though just before they left.

Swim Team Highlights!

We had a great swim season swimming with the piranhas! Brodey's swimming improved SO MUCH in just 2 months and he had a BLAST. He was so sad when the swim season was over.

Something we learned about swim meets is there is a LOT of waiting between races.. the boys passed the time playing UNO with some teammates.

Backstroke was his favorite and BEST event.. he took first a few times and even moved up a heat! (This was also our favorite to watch.. his little face was so adorable!)

happy birthday Brock!! #5!!

We are having such a busy summer we had to squeeze Brock's birthday in between beach trips, swim team, and other fun events! Not many of his 5 year old friends were going to be in town the week of his birthday so we just invited a few good buddies over after swim practice and had a great afternoon celebrating our Brock man!

For days (maybe even weeks) in advance he made a point to remind me that he did NOT want icing on his cake. So we picked a chocolate chip cake and made it together the day before. :) He loves helping in the kitchen.

I thought it would be fun to sing to him outside and blow out candles. Unfortunately the wind kept blowing them out.. we tried twice and then just moved our little party inside :)

And sang to him for the THIRD time... he loved it :)
