Dr. Daddy

Today Brodey was hugging my belly and started yelling "BABY!! Come out of there already!!". Then he looked at me and said "when is this baby going to come out??". So I asked him how he thought the baby was going to get out of there (risky question, I know). Here's Brodey's 3.5 year old take on childbirth:
"First daddy is going to get a big knife and cut your belly off (there were hand motions with this explanation) and then the baby will be out!" Big smile.
Me: "but Brodey.. won't that hurt????"
Him: "well yeah, but I will bring you a band-aid and it will feel better."
Me: "don't you think I should go to the hospital for that and have the doctor do it?"
Him: "NO! Daddy can do it."

We left it at that.

I for one am thankful that is not how this baby is coming out.

Riding Bikes

I know I already blogged about Brock's love for these Mr. Potato Head glasses... but it's still very funny to me. Here he is riding his bike... he says to me "I wear my sun-gwasses".

And an action shot of Brodey:

Thank God

I put the boys to bed by myself tonight because Jeff is working late. After hugs and kisses and brushing teeth I walked out of Brock's room and he yelled something after me. I couldn't understand him at first but when I went back in there I figured it out. He was laying on his back with his hands folded over his chest saying, "I fank (thank) God.... I fank God". Smart boy... he knew we have much to be thankful for tonight and he couldn't go to sleep without thanking God. Top of his list was Baby Luke... our good friends met their baby boy today at 5:22pm! Sweet Brock, I'm glad he remembers the important things.

Brock, he needs supervision

Yesterday I found Brock in the bathroom holding the toilet bowl cleaner brush thing (what is the shorter name for that??)

Me: (gasp)"BROCK.. what are you doing with that???!!"
Brock: (big smile) "I brush my teef (teeth) mom!"
Me: (shock and horror) "No... did you really?"
Brock: "Yep... see... (big smile).. I brush my teef mom!"

Then I ask Brodey.... "Brodey, did he really brush his teeth with that?"
Brodey: "yes... he did mom"
Me: "did you put it in your mouth too?"
Brodey: "NO! That's gross!"

At least one of them knows. Too bad he didn't tell his brother.

Names

For several months I've been trying to get Brodey to say his full name... I'd ask him what his name was, "Brodey" he'd tell me. Me: "Is it Brodey Myles Culp?" Him: "No. Just Brodey." We were worried he was turning into Madonna. This week he FINALLY acknowledged the rest of his name.

I love that he thinks Brock's first name is Broccoli... and that he thinks my first name is Mommy.

The older one teaches the younger

Brodey tells me he's potty training Brock. I don't know about his method... but if it works out you won't hear me complaining!
