Brothers

I've been wanting to get some pictures taken of the boys while it's still just the two of them. Hilarious. They kept staring at the lady like she was crazy and by the end of it I was on the floor promising Brock a sucker if he would just stop screaming and look at the camera. Even funnier that that these terrible pictures amused me so much that I bought them all anyway!

This one to the right is my favorite... she wanted them to hold hands... Brock was not going to have it.

And yes... I realize Brock really could use another haircut. His bed-head is just so cute in the morning I don't think I can part with his long hair!

Discipline

We try to teach our boys to have good manners, self-control and respect for other people. Discipline is necessary. Several things work well for Brodey. Not so much with Brock. Almost every time I've put him in time-out in his room (2 minutes or less) he has fallen asleep. He has never complained about being there. If I pop him on the hand for touching something he shouldn't he will seriously smile and hold out the other hand. Last night at dinner he was yelling and causing a ruckus so I turned his chair around to face the wall for a couple of minutes. This would have been devastating to Brodey... fascinating to Brock. He studied the wall like it was the most interesting thing he had seen all day. After his 2 minutes were up and he was still sitting there quietly I asked him if he was ready to come back to the table with the rest of us... "no mom". He enjoyed his punishment so much he wanted to stay! How do we teach this child?? Jeff is so amused by Brock he can't even sit at the table when I'm trying to discipline him because he can't keep from laughing. They absolutely have the same personality.

VBS 2008

We had Vacation Bible School at our Church last week... Ropin' Round-up, so we got to dress like cowboys! The boys loved it.

Mr. Potato Head

He wears these glasses a lot. It's so funny to watch him wander around the house in them.. and how serious he is about it!

YAY! Back online... so many updates...

After two long painful weeks of being without a computer I'm excited to finally update my blog!

Jeff and Brodey were eating breakfast the other day and Brodey says, "Daddy.. my pow-ridge is too hot."

Jeff: "Your what?"

Brodey: "my pow-ridge!" (he's eating oatmeal)

Jeff: "Why do you call it porridge now?"

Brodey: "mommy taught me that when I was in her belly"

Odd... I don't think I've ever read him the three little bears either.
