Time with Daddy

As one might imagine, the daddy of this house has taken on quite a bit more responsibility since the mommy has been sick. One being bath time. Sometimes daddy forgets to take off all the clothing first... on this particular night Brock man took his whole bath, hair washing and all, while wearing his socks. Apparently Brock's pale skin makes it difficult to tell if his socks are on or not. (says Jeff)

I've also discovered daddy has been taking Brodey on some late night outings. I am normally the bedtime enforcer around here so this has been very exciting times for Brodey. I'm normal in bed by 7pm (yes.. I really am that sick) and the boys are supposed to be in bed by 8pm. It seems daddy has been putting Brock to bed at 8 and then him and Brodey have been going out. Saturday morning Brodey came running in our room and told me "Last night I had a shaking milk with daddy!"... turns out that translates to daddy took him to Stake-n-Shake and they had milk shakes. Jeff confessed that they have also been to Home Depot several times late at night. I guess it's good that he has someone to keep him company while I am sick! I hope Brodey will remember the fun times he has had with his dad.

Toilet Trouble

The toilet in our master bath makes a loud banging noise a few minutes after it is flushed. Sounds like something metal is banging around in the pipes. Oddly enough... my watch is missing. I'm not sure who the guilty party is... they both look suspicious.

Secrets

Yesterday Brodey and I were laying on the trampoline and he got really close to my face and whispered: "Mommy... sometimes at night.... I jump on my bed." Then he covered his face laughing. I love that he tells me his secrets. I wonder what else I don't know about??

From Brodey's mouth

"Mommy.... you don't feel good? You should lay down. I bring you a blanket. And some water. You'll feel better." (and he did all of those things. And I did feel better.)

As I'm in the bathroom throwing up Brodey comes in and rubs my back and says "It's okay mom. I take care of you."

He stopped calling Jeff daddy... now he calls him "Father Dad". We don't know where that came from.

And my favorite... "You hear that Bwock? Mommy frowing up! Let's go watch."

**Brodey speaks in an English accent. We aren't sure why.... Jeff thinks when you cross a Notherner (me) with a Southerner (him), you get a Brit. Who knew.

Static

It finally warmed up a little here this week so we got to play outside for a little while. (I know my family in Minnesota is going to read this and roll their eyes.... my cousin actually said to me "Yeah, it's been warm here too.. almost in the 30's." Tease if you have to.. but I can't play outside unless it's in the 60's!)
We got out on the trampoline and this is what happened to Brock's hair. His hair normally looks like he has static so him on the trampoline was hilarious.

Cooking with Stephanie...

My friend Stephanie has a grandmom that makes the BEST chicken and dumplings. When we were in high school Grandmom Durham would make us these dumplings anytime we really needed them... like if one of us had been sick... or maybe if both of us were failing statistics (and our friend Ali too). So seeing as how I have been really sick for the last few weeks Stephanie came out to my house and made dumplings for me! And Brodey got to help... he was thrilled and had a blast. Thanks Stephanie... exactly what I needed!!

Hyperemesis Gravidarum

Hyperemesis Gravidarum is why my blog posts will be few and far between for awhile. It is a condition of pregnancy that happens in like less than 3% of all pregnant women and is basically severe morning sickness that lasts all day and night and much longer than the first trimester. I'm on several medications, one that pumps into a port in my leg 24 hours a day. My sister comes by to change the port every three days.... I am not a fan of needles and tend to be a baby about it.... last night I may have hit her when she got near me with the needle. What can I say, it's hard on the whole family! =)
Anyhow, I have a few updates I want to get up here today.. and then it may be awhile again!
