Proud Momma

Today at the Chick-fil-a playground there was a terror of a little boy running around shoving all the other kids and causing a ruckus. To the point where the daddy of one little girl went out looking for the mother of this child to ask if she could come keep an eye on him (I watched her turn her nose up at him and then turn around and ignore him). Anyhow... this boy shoved Brodey and purposefully stomped on Brock's hand TWICE.... they ignored these offenses. THEN, at the very top of the play place where big momma (me) couldn't reach them, this little boy pushed Lyla down and slapped her hard on her sweet baby face. Before I could do or say anything Brock was there just pounding on this little boy. Brodey broke up the fight, telling everyone to "be nice" (oh.. such a first born. I love him) and brought Lyla down for me. We left after that and in the car I asked Brock what happened and he said, "that boy just made me SO MAD when he hurt my baby sista!". He could handle it when the boy was mean to him... but not so much when he was mean to his baby sister. I love you Brock.
Oh, and just to be clear.... I am fully aware that I could one day find myself the mother of the terror (especially if #4, aka "Kung Fu Panda", is as violent on the outside as he/she is on the inside) and I FULLY expect my child to take a beating if they ever act like such a B.R.A.T.

**edited to say: Jeff asked Brock about this incident when he got home and Brock would NOT tell him that he hit the other boy... he just kept saying "I took care of it" and "well... mommy said I was a good boy for protecting my sista...." So cute.

They think they're funny.

This is what the boys looked like when they got up the other morning. "we have biiiiiiiiig bellies like MOMMY!!" funny.

My little Valentines

Attempt at a photo of all three... looked like it was going to go well and then that crazy middle child...

I don't blame her for running
Sometimes they just need to be held down.

Snow Day = lots of pictures

Some kids build snowmen.... some kids make snow stuffed Buzz Lightyear men

100th day of School

Thursday was the "100th day of School" (something I had never heard of... this school really likes to celebrate!), so the teachers planned a morning of fun for the kids and their parents. We got there at 9 and did four crafts together...
(Brodey loves crafts... works very hard on them. Another mom stopped me and said she had been in earlier in the week observing the class and and was "so impressed" with Brodey. Mommies like to hear that kind of thing.) :)
These are Brodey's best buds from school.. Joey, Harrison and Hudson. They aren't in the same class this year but they still get to play on the playground together. Their teacher told me that Brodey is so well liked in her class that she even went to the director to see if she could move him into her room! He's happy where he is though, so they kept him where he is.
There are 11 kids in Brodey's class...
After crafts we went outside to let 100 balloons go celebrating being 100 days smarter

THEN, we went back inside for pizza and cake! (this school really likes to party!)
I had a fun morning with Brodey and was so glad I was able to stay the whole time with him!

Sweet Beans

Brock: "Mom, my sista wants to get up." (from her nap)
Me: "who?"
Brock: "My sister!!"
Me: "who??" (we try to get him to say her name)
Brock: "You know.... Sweet Beans!!"

He knows her name is Lyla and will occasionally tell other people her name, but he ALWAYS calls her by a nickname (beans, sweet beans, cutie beans, baby girl...) and whenever he talks about her he just says "my sista". I wonder if in a couple of months we'll be asking "which one??". ????

Anyhow... one thing is for sure: Lyla beans is ADORED by her brothers. Never have they been jealous of the attention we give her and they both dote on her as much as Jeff and I do. I hope they always love her so much.
