Potty training... I feel like it won't be easy

First of all, I am NOT currently potty training Lyla.. that is WAY low on my list of things to do this summer with 4 kids... maybe next summer... maybe even the summer after that! ;) But she keeps telling me she has to potty... so I thought I'd take her in there to try. After all, that is how Brock potty trained himself. One day he wanted to and waa-laa.. potty trained! I was kinda hoping I was about to be that lucky again... but no. She screamed and cried when I tried to sit her on the potty. This is how she wants to do it...

Whoever said potty training girls was easier than boys didn't have two little boys in the house making things confusing!

fun fun fun

Mother's Day 2010

I love mother's day! How fun when you have FOUR little cuties to celebrate with!
They started off the day making breakfast... I'm told they wanted to bring it to me in bed, but I got out of bed too fast. Oops.
Then we tired taking pictures... (I made the girls their FIRST matching outfits!)

After church we went out to Lyndsay and Travis' for dinner.
The kids had a blast playing with Cooper and Uncle Myles on the trampoline.
My bud Cooper...
Lucy had a nice time snuggling with Grampa.
And the very best part of mother's day: This picture Brodey drew of our family. That's our house on the right, then daddy, me (holding a tiny little Lucy next to my face), then Lyla, Brock and Brodey on the trampoline. I love it!! Such an artist!

One month old Lucy Rae!

Little Beauty weighs 10 lbs 3 oz and is 22 inches long. She is already smiling and fits so perfectly into our family! She normally wakes up one time in the middle of the night and is quick to fall back asleep. The older three are really adjusting well to having Lucy around. She is very well loved!

Preschool Mothers Day Lunch

Brodey invited me to his school today for a Mother's Day lunch. He even picked out this special outfit for him to wear...
He reminded me a few time in the car to wear a dress when I came. I think he was nervous since I was dropping him off in my pajamas.
When I got there he pulled out my chair for me. Then he said, "mommy, would you like water or lemonade?" And then I almost cried because he is SUCH a nice little boy. So proud of him.
This is the gift he made for me... again, almost cried. I think I'm too emotional for him to be growing up so fast.
He was very proud of his work..
After we ate we played a little game, us mom's had to guess which piece of artwork was our child's. They said "My mom is special because...." and the kids answered. I knew right away which one was Brodey's. Some of them said their mom's were special because they were "cute" or "pretty" or "gave a lot of hugs"... Brodey's said: My mom is special because she plays Connect Four with me. :)

Then we came home and he made me a special mother's day chocolate cake! Love him.
I am such a proud momma!

Lovin the backyard

The weather has been sooo nice so we've been eating on the deck and playing in the backyard every night. FUN times.
Brock normally has clothes on when we get outside.. but often changes into this very unusual character when no one is looking...
Goggles and underwear. What more do you need?? Then he'll say, with his hands on his hips, "you wanna piece of ME??"

Really.... you wanna piece of this.... scary right??

Where is Lucy during all this fun??? Getting some love from daddy.. of course!

2 week well check, stomach bug, "newborn" photos

I'm so behind!!
Lucy weighed 9 lbs 9 oz at her two week well check, has DOUBLE blocked tear ducts (so sad) AND had a terrible stomach bug that the other three had. Sad sad sad to see a newborn baby with a stomach bug. It lasted about 4 days and we are HAPPY to be past it.
On to fun things... I knitted a hat for a photographer friend of mine over the winter and as a "thank you" she took some photographs of Lucy. I soooo got the better end of that deal!
Anyhow... Lucy is growing so fast! We had to wait until after she was over the stomach bug, so she is almost 3 weeks old in these pictures. She was already almost too big for some of her newborn "props"! These are a few of my favs...

Lyla was supposed to be in the other room waiting with Brock, but she came running in and hopped in this one... so glad my friend was super fast and caught this... she's sooo sweet to her sister!
