Memory Walk 2008

In 2002 my grandmother passed away from Alzheimer's... she wasn't even 70 years old. This year our whole family got together to participate in the Memory Walk which helps raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's. I miss her very much and it makes me sad that no one in my family, not even Jeff, got to meet her. Lyla would have been her 13th great-grandchild.

It was a beautiful day for the walk and we had a great time. I carried Lyla in a Maya Wrap and Brodey, Brock and Cooper took turns in the double stroller pushed by pretty much everyone. (mostly Aunt Lyndsay.. who apparently thought the walk was a race and left the rest of us far far behind.)
I love the picture of Brodey with Brock and Cooper in the background. Brock with his Hollywood sunglasses on and Cooper just laid out in the grass... did I mention he RAN at least a mile of the race?? Next time I see him I'll get some video... seriously the fastest 2 year old I've ever seen.

At the doctor

She's growing!
Weight: 10 lbs 12 oz (90th percentile)
Height: 21 1/4 inches (50th percentile)
And for fun:
Brodey at one month:
Weight: 11 lbs 4 oz
Height: 21 1/2 inches
Brock at one month:
Weight: 11 lbs
(He wasn't measured at one month because he was in for reflux, not a well check)
Also, she has baby acne. Apparently it will come and go until she is 6 months old.. probably every time we go to have her picture taken!

One Month!

Lyla is already one month old! I can't believe it. We took her to church for the first time yesterday and I finally had a reason to put a dress on her. I learned that dresses are not very easy to put on. The picture is not great.. she was trying to tell me something and didn't want to look at the camera.

She has really been a great baby. She has her one month check up tomorrow... hopefully we will find out why her skin is so broken out.

I had to take this picture of Brock when we were leaving church... I should have made it a video.. he is so funny when he runs.. arms flailing and looking at the ground. Nothing really smooth about it, but it is sooo cute.

Lyla

I've had a few requests for some Lyla pictures... She has been smiling since she was two weeks old (I don't care what you say... she smiles at me... it's not gas) and I've been trying to catch a picture of it to post... my camera has a LONG delay so I keep missing it! Here are a few recent attempts....

I love this one of her and her daddy... look how irritated she looks that she can't see the game too.

Yep.. I painted her toe nails. 3 weeks old. It was time.
She is doing great! She goes about 6-7 hours between feedings at night, loves to stare at the boys, makes some little coo-ing sounds, LOVES Target. She's going a little bald on the top of her head... think old man hairline.. hopefully it will grow back soon! She has her one month check up at the Pediatrician on Tuesday so I'll will post her weight and such then. Time is passing way too fast.

Brock the big brother

I love this video. Especially how he pats her head.

Things go wrong fast.

A couple of days ago I thought everything was under control... Lyla was laying on a blanket.. the boys were playing cars on the coffee table... I thought it would be safe for me to run to the bathroom real fast. Seconds after I shut the door Brodey comes running after me.. "MOMMY MOMMY... Bwock's sitting on Wywa's head!" So I ran back out there.. she was fine. But it reminded me of something Brodey did to Brock when he was just a few weeks old.

It was the first night Jeff had to work late since we brought Brock home. My first night putting TWO to bed by myself. It started out fine. I had Brock on the changing table changing his diaper and getting him ready for bed... when I came out of his room (aka our closet) I found Brodey in our room throwing all my folded laundry all over the floor. (Brodey: 20 months old) So I laid Brock on the floor so I could get Brodey off the bed and start picking up the laundry. I was on the other side of the bed where I couldn't see Brock when he suddenly started crying. Brodey had the plunger... the toilet plunger on Brock's face. He plunged his face.

I guess in comparison Brock sitting on Lyla's head really isn't all that bad.

Just some fun pictures...

Lyla: 12 days old
Some love from Brock
I was no good at getting two kids to look at me for a picture...
no surprise three isn't any better!

Not sure what Brock is doing in these two...
poor Lyla is confused too!
